NEDRA 1999 Woodburn Results

Two dragster stage themselves for a run. Photo by Russell Levine
The event at the Woodburn Dragstrip in Woodburn, OR was held on August 28, 1999. The event, sponsored by Dempsey World Record Associates and Optima Batteries. There was an amazing show of EV power and 13 NEDRA World Records were set. Check below for the best times of all the cars that ran. Unfortunately, Bob Boyd's Megawatt Monster Prestolite experienced transmission failure. Bob was awarded a SecureStart (an instant engine starter from Bolder Technologies) because it was felt that of all the entrants, Bob "needed a boost" the most. Justin Southam also won the "Best Burn Off" award. He was driving Wilde Evolution's 1929 Ford Roadster "Lightning Rod." The Vipers were also out in force and ran some amazing times and were still blown away by Jim Ludiker (and KTA Service's) Circuit Breaker and Dempsey World Record Associates' Maniac Mazda.

Please check back for photos from the event.

The table below contains the best times for the vehicles which ran. Vehicles that are 96V and under have their times recorded for the 1/8 mile rather than the 1/4 mile. Also, times in red are new NEDRA World Records. Click on the owner and vehicle for a picture of the vehicle, if available.
