Production vehicles are mass produced vehicles that are originally created to be EVs. An example of a production vehicle would be GM's EV-1 or Toyota's RAV-EV. Modified productions are vehicles that have been altered from the original production specs. Conversions are vehicles that were not EVs in a previous life. Street conversion vehicles are licensed and legal for driving on the street. Modified street cars, on the other hand, are not street legal (often the wheels are not Department of Transportation approved). Dragsters are not street legal vehicles. The same is true for Go-Carts. All two and three wheeled vehicles fall under the Motorcycle/Trike category. The High School categories are for vehicles built and owned by high schools. The same street and modified rules apply to the high school classes. Class 64 vehicles are special vehicles which have a total battery pack weight of not more than 64 lbs. Concept vehicles are used for prototypes and vehicles that are one of a kind and do not fall easily under the other categories. As soon as there are two or more of the vehicle, then it is no longer a concept vehicle.

To determine your voltage division, simply determine your pack voltage. Currently, we are only recording 1/8 mile times for all vehicle class that are in voltage divisions G - J (under 96V).

If you are uncertain of how to classify your vehicle, or have questions about the race classes and voltage divisions, please contact our tech contact and include a description of your vehicle.

Please send any corrections to existing record holder information to recordkeeper@nedra.com.

If you wish to submit a new record holder time, the rules are as follows:

  • You (the owner of the vehicle) MUST be a member of NEDRA at the time the record is set.
  • Send two time slips (the times must be within 1% of each other) from runs made on the same day at any NHRA sanctioned track or a NEDRA sanctioned event, information about the track, track contact, event date, vehicle class and voltage division, vehicle specs, driver and owner as well as a photo of the vehicle to:

NEDRA Record Holders
3200 Dutton Ave #220
Santa Rosa, Ca 95407

If the slower time is within 1% of the faster time, then the faster time will become the new record.  Otherwise, the slower of the two times will become the new record.  We will contact you if there are any questions about your submission. We can also return photos to you if you would like.

You may also have noticed that there are some combinations of class and voltage divisions which have no record holders. Those categories are still open to any time records so submit your times today and become a NEDRA Record Holder!
